Sales Engineer, PTC UK

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing new, and maintaining existing customer relationships
  • Ongoing identification of new business opportunities within the UK and internationally
  • Resolving client challenges and problems; always with a focus on safety; high customer focus and service
  • Articulate and professionally deliver (via the most appropriate communication mechanism) PTC information
  • Active involvement in the consistent maintenance and update of appropriate PTC systems which support sales and marketing
  • Participate in sales activities eg quotes, tender preparation, bids and proposals.
  • Participate in sales and marketing events such shows and conferences
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by effectively and efficiently handling of customer complaints or concerns
  • Participate in budget forecasting
  • Participate in post job meetings
  • Liaising with other sales team members as well as PTC technical experts
  • Utilising client feedback provide assistance to PTC engineering with the ongoing development of PTC equipment
  • Required to keep current with respect to the activities of competitors
  • Required to be able to influence client purchasing decisions where legal and possible to favourably position PTC and its products prior to receiving a formal enquiry
  • To comply with HSE rules and regulations, and follow the PTC Business Management System required in all areas of work.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner and keeps all employees aware of dangers in work area (PTC Observation card system). Proactively pursues and recommends safe work practices/procedures.  Practices good housekeeping in work areas.



  • Mechanical or engineering qualification (preferred)
  • Oil and gas industry experience, specifically working in the offshore environment (preferred)
  • Able to demonstrate a consistently successful track record in sales (lead generation and orders placed) (essential)
  • Computer literate
