PTC Wins "Globetrotter of the Year" at Gullkronen 2017
We are proud to announce that PTC was awarded Globetrotter of the Year at the Rystad Energy Gullkronen Awards 2017.
Gullkronen awards companies, teams or people who have shown outstanding achievements on the Norwegian Continental Shelf during the previous year.
The jury, consisting of industry experts and Rystad Energy representatives, gave the following reasoning for choosing PTC:

Petroleum Technology Company appoints Tommy White as North America Region Manager and Global Advisor for Gas Lift
Tommy White has joined Petroleum Technology Company (PTC) as the North America Region Manager and Global Advisor for Gas Lift.
Mr. White is a world authority in gas lift and related oil production operations. His career has spanned 36 years in the international oil and gas service sector and includes senior positions with Camco and Schlumberger in both completions and artificial lift. White began his career as a gas lift field engineer and progressed to roles in application engineering, sales and operations management, marketing, manufacturing, business development, gas lift product development and global gas lift business management. He has authored numerous technical publications and has instructed multiple technical seminars and workshops throughout the world. White studied at the University of Louisiana, the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

First NexLift unwelded side pocket mandrel installation
NexLift Side Pocket Mandrel
5-1/2” 25%Cr. NexLift SPM was successfully run and tested for a North Sea client Jan. 19th. NexLift was run with PTC’s ShearLift-T gas lift valve, which allows intervention free well start up.

Successful implementation of MSAS-G
In Q3, 2015 PTC successfully installed its first complete system installations of 2-1/16” Master Surface Annulus Safety Valve (MSAS) integrated in an API monogrammed gate valve (MSAS-G). This independent dual barrier solution was delivered for a major operator in the North Sea.
PTC engineered and validated solution, consisting of gate valve, a modular design of the MSAS-G hydraulic actuator, and the VR profile embedded check valve. All designed and manufactured to API and PTC specifications.
MSAS-G is designed for applications where piping modifications are not desired or possible to perform. Cost effective and safe installation is provided by simply replacing the existing gate valve with the PTC gate valve and a MSAS-G.

New Technology Field trials
First six installations of 1.5” DuraLift anti-scale gas lift valve (GLV) for two major operators in the North Sea during 2015. The orifice valves were installed in wells where previously installed GLV’s were rapidly failing due to scaling issues. The valves are still downhole and performing as expected.
The DuraLift gas lift valve was designed to operate in wells with scaling issues, while providing reliable barrier function. The geometry of the valve has a unique feature that prevents produced fluid that may create scale, from entering the check-valve area.
